Hostinger Review: The Best Cheap Hosting Provider?
If you don’t want to read the entire review, here’s a brief summary of my conclusion regarding Hostinger.
Hostinger Review – What I Learned
Hostinger is a web hosting company that provides hosting services to individuals and businesses. They offer shared hosting, VPS hosting, cloud hosting, cloud storage, domain registration and SSL certificates.
Hostinger – Company Highlights
Hostinger is a Lithuanian-based company, founded by Arnas Stuopelis in 2004 (as Hosting Media), and renamed as Hostinger in 2011.
Hostinger serves over 29 million users in 178 countries with a customer base of over 2 million active subscribers.
What Hostinger Has to Offer
A wide range of plans, coupled with attractive prices make Hostinger cost-effective for novices and intermediate users.
Even Hostinger’s cheapest shared hosting plan lets you create a professional email address, and you can create multiple email addresses with the more expensive plans. This simple offering makes Hostinger stand out and is quite useful.

Hostinger is a Lithuanian-based web hosting service that serves approximately 29 million consumers every day. The company’s performance and customer care are two factors behind its continuing success.
The company says that its WordPress sites have an average response time of 143ms, and if you need assistance, you should wait for 50s on average.
Hostinger still has a lot of characteristics that make it an appealing choice for website owners.
Hostinger offers strong components such as SSL certificate and Cloudflare security if you buy a yearly membership.
Hostinger distinguishes itself from the competition by providing both an email account and Cloudflare.
Aside from 24/7 live support, Hostinger’s Help Center is your best bet for finding the answers to your questions.
Multiple articles on a variety of subjects such as site migration, maintenance, performance, working with cPanel, Hostinger’s own hPanel are available in the Help Center.
Even the basic shared plan comes with managed WordPress, which manages updates, and LiteSpeed Cache for WordPress, a service that may entice new and intermediate users seeking to create a professional-looking WordPress site.
However, it is not as suitable for large enterprises as it doesn’t provide dedicated hosting.
Pricing
Hostinger provides shared hosting, VPS hosting, cloud hosting, and even specialized hosting solutions such as WordPress hosting and cPanel hosting.
When picking a hosting solution, keep in mind the cost of the package and the features you need.
This way you won’t spend money on a plan that allows you to run numerous websites while only requiring one website, which has an audience of around 500-1000 monthly visitors.
If you sign up for a four-year membership, you may start with the Single Shared hosting plan for as little as $1.99 per month.
When you realize that it includes weekly backups and 30GB storage space, the plan is a fantastic value.
For longer periods of time, most hosting companies provide a lower on-boarding fee for the same plan.
If you select a 24-month membership, for example, the same plan costs $1.99 per month if you pay in advance. It’s also worth noting that renewal rates are greater and vary depending on the subscription period.
Hostinger doesn’t provide dedicated hosting, which is intended for large businesses with thousands of visitors. If you’re looking for a good alternative, one of the eight VPS plans is your best bet. The most budget-friendly plan costs $3.95 per month for a four-year subscription and has a single CPU core, 1GB.
Hostinger’s standard price for cloud hosting starts at $9.99 per month and goes up to $18.99 per month depending on the length of your contract.
The plan you choose will be determined by your usage scenario. If you want to host a podcast on your website, only one of the VPS plans is available because Hostinger does not allow it on its shared or cloud hosting plans.
Hostinger, like most hosting companies, accepts payments through Google Pay and most credit cards.
The usage of debit cards or national payment gateways or wallets is not supported.
Hostinger initially rejected cryptocurrencies but has since partnered with CoinGate, another Lithuanian firm, and accepts cryptocurrency as payment. Purchases made using cryptocurrencies are not refundable according to Host.
Hostinger Cloud Lite & Premium Shared Hosting
Features
Hostinger’s cheapest shared hosting packages come with just a single CPU core and 768MB RAM.
While this appears to be little, the plan is targeted towards small businesses or professionals who onl
y need a single email address and expect fewer than 10,000 monthly visits.
At the same time, 100GB bandwidth indicates that you may use the 30GB SSD space for all your needs.
Hostinger offers more features in its shared plans than many of its competitors, such as a free email account, weekly backups, two sub-domains, and more.
You may use the sub-domains to set up a blog or another sister website, making your site appear more professional.
The Cloud Linux 7 distribution is utilized by all shared plans. to contact the assistance staff for software and version information.
WordPress hosting isn’t the most powerful I’ve ever encountered, but it’s inexpensive.
WordPress Hosting
Hostinger’s WordPress hosting offers a number of advantages on it’s shared hosting.
Even the most inexpensive Starter plan includes a single WordPress site, one email account, 30GB SSD, free SSL, WordPress Acceleration, managed auto-updates, and all for $1.99 (4 year period) or $3.99 after renewal.
Upgrading to the next level gets you more storage space, additional sites supported, and Jetpack Free on the WordPress Starter and Business WordPress plan.
You’re still limited in numerous ways despite being able to host 300 Websites with the WordPress Pro plan.
Other perks with more expensive plans include the ability to manage numerous WordPress sites from one dashboard, automatic plugin updates, daily backups, and a Google Ads credit.
If you’re a complete beginner to WordPress or working on a modest site, go with Hostinger’s basic packages for now.
You can upgrade to its cloud services or VPS hosting when you need it.
Hostinger business web hosting
You may get a free domain, 200GB storage, unrestricted traffic, a free SSL certificate, and daily backups.
This package is ideal for people who just want to set up one website with lots of features that aren’t available at this price range.
Hostinger Servers
Hostinger’s semi-managed VPS plans are for more demanding clients. These begin with a modest 1 vCPU, 1GB RAM, 20GB storage, and 1TB bandwidth configuration for $3.95 per month on the annual plan, increasing to $8.16 after renewal.
Another option is to take a 4 year plan for $15.95 per month, with a 4 vCore, 4GB RAM, 80GB storage and 4000 GB bandwidth deal, with a renewal for $32.76 per month.
This is excellent value, and it’s even more affordable than most providers.
Detailed comparison charts will help you understand exactly what you’re receiving.
Account setup
Hostinger goes into great depth about the technical details of their offers in a long table comparison.
Choose a plan, then Buy to see a list of subscription choices (usually monthly payments with one, two- and four-year terms).
When choosing a subscription period, you pay less the longer the period.
The only consideration is that you pay the full amount upfront.
The main drawback is the monthly plan, which is typically more expensive and isn’t really worth considering.
Cloudflare is also integrated with all accounts.
There are numerous payment options to choose from, including PayPal, credit card, Google Pay, and Bitcoin.
A simple startup wizard and a welcome email followed soon after, providing more information.
You will be guided by a tutorial and can have a website set up in minutes.
Creating a site
By asking whether I wanted to register a new domain, transfer an existing domain, or use an existing domain but keep it with the current registrar, Hostinger’s setup wizard got me off on the right foot.
You may also choose where to host your website, North America, the United Kingdom, or Europe.
I claimed my free domain and was given Hostinger’s four name servers to choose from.
Choose the one closest to your target market.
Even if you change your mind, you still have Cloudflare CDN, so it will not be an issue, since your site will be delivered to the website visitor from the closest location.
The final stage offered five alternatives for me to use to build our website.
WordPress and a variety of additional applications can be automatically installed by Hostinger.
You can choose to install WordPress or WordPress with WooCommerce for e-commerce websites.
You can choose to install themes and additional plugins or skip.
I could set things up with a single click after choosing an admin password.
Hostinger’s website builder is AI Website Builder, which I didn’t use, since I already have a premium theme – Kadence – which I strongly recommend. It comes with it’s own free AI builder, Kadence AI. You don’t have to use the premium version, you can use Kadence totally free. I needed few more bells and whistles for my sites, so I got the bundle. It is fast and light WordPress theme, one of the best on the market. Check out Kadence for yourself and get back to me with your experience and questions if you have them.
This covers all of the basics, with about 200 responsive templates, simple drag-and-drop customizations, and options to embed videos, maps, social media widgets, and basic e-commerce functions.
I choose to skip this part and recommend that you do also if you want more control over your process.
The Hostinger control panel includes a number of sophisticated tools, including the Zone Editor.
Manage your site more efficiently by using the Access Manager.
It’s a fantastic add-on that allows you to grant access to your Hostinger account so others may work on developing or managing the site with you.
You could accomplish something similar by sharing your credentials, but this is considerably safer.
Everyone has their own login, and the people you invite have limited access to your account.
They have limited access and can’t access your stored payment information or change account details such as your registered email address by default.
Go straight to Hostinger’s well-designed hPanel site manager, where you’ll find domain management tools as well as subdomains, databases, SSH access, emails, FTP accounts, and more.
The panel is very intuitive.
24/7 Support
Many hosting companies provide the opportunity to contact a representative as soon as you arrive on the website.
This enables you to make an educated decision about the plan that best meets your needs, or to ask specific questions about what’s available with each plan.
Live chat with Hostinger is only accessible to its customers.
You’ll appreciate the enormous wealth of knowledge in the Help Center, which is a collection of instructions and tutorials on managing your website and configuring various features such as emails, sub-domains, FTP access, etc.
You can even search for answers in the Help Center from your Dashboard.
Hostinger will return results that are most relevant to your query, and you’ll typically be able to discover what you’re looking for.
If not, the live chat will jump to answer all inquiries right away.
Hostinger promises that it responds to live chat inquiries in under 50 seconds.
If it happens to be a few minutes longer, and you close the window, you will receive a response by email.
You can purchase the Priority Support add-on, which will cost you $1.99 per month if you opt for a four-year subscription.
You can access the live chat from the Dashboard. The chat window informs you that the usual response time is under one hour.
Performance
For the shared basic plan, and overall Hostinger has excellent uptime, and good page load speed.
Key Takeaways
